New York NY – Know Your Rights at Work/”Workers’ Bill of Rights” (June 2024)
As of July 1st, 2024, all New York City employers are required to post the new Workers’ Bill of Rights notice. The notice displays the phrase “Know your rights at work” in multiple languages, and includes a QR code, which employees can scan to read more about their rights online.
New York NY – Pregnancy Accommodations (June 2024)
The notice no longer specifies that employers with 4 or more employees must provide reasonable accommodations; it simply says that “employers” must provide them. The notice now specifies that employees are allowed time off to recover from “conditions related to childbirth” rather than just childbirth itself. A line of text was added stating that reasonable accommodations should be tailored to the needs of both the employee and the employer. The phone number for the NYC Commission of Human Rights was updated, and the layout and design of the notice have been changed.
While the city has modified this mandatory notice, we have determined that this change will not impact the compliance of your existing poster if it includes the most recent mandatory change listed below. Plan customers who would like an updated poster can reach out to us on chat or by calling 1.800.322.3636.
